becoming infinite

always learning. always growing. always lifting heavy things.

because i like to lift things up and put them down…


true confessions: i hate doing cardio. unless it’s a spin class or a run…get me the hell out of there. on the contrary, i LOVE me some lifting. and while i lost a little bit of strength in my upper body due to general post-operative sloth, i retained a respectable amount. and i had a killer lift yesterday that made me really excited to get back to my former life and my former strength! (feel free to skip if this bores the hell out of you.)

bench: 8 x 45#
3 sets of 8 x 55#
5 x 60#

sets of 55# alternated with:

t-bar rear delt row: 3 sets of 8 x 25# (i have no clue how much the t-bar itself weighs, so i’m just going by the 25-lb. plate i loaded)


incline chest press (dumbbell): 3 sets of 12 x 20#

alternated with:

barbell row: 3 sets of 10 x 30# (this is a new lift for me…still getting comfortable with the motion.)


shoulder press (dumbbell): 3 sets of 12 x 15#

alternated with:

upright row (barbell): 3 sets of 10 x 30#


bicep curls (barbell): 3 sets of 8 x 30# (my biceps are weaksauce)

alternated with:

tricep extensions (barbell): 3 sets of 10 x 30#


i would say the whole shebang took about an hour. i’m pumped about the final bench set, as bench is by FAR the most difficult lift for me.

today, i cannot raise my arms above my head. but do i care? heck no.

  2. I LOVE lifting too! I hadn’t done it in a really long time…this week I started it back up…I forgot how sexy and strong it makes me feel! And i feel really awesome, cause at my gym, there’s not many girls that venture to the weights side of it!

  4. congratulations! I don’t lift quite like you do, but what I do lift is done on the same side of the gym as the police officers, wrestlers and body builders. ha ha They are so fun and nice that I hate going on “the other side” with the circuit and cardio machines. Keep going, sounds like you had a great lift today. You’ll get there! I love to feel the SORE. I do morning workouts and the SORE hits the next day in the afternoon. Heck yes! love it !
