becoming infinite

always learning. always growing. always lifting heavy things.

but who needs hamstrings, anyway?

today was my first deadlift day since surgery!

in reality, (a) i’ve been doing 50# stiff-legged DLs for a few weeks, and (b) it’s kind of my first deadlift day ever because they’ve always terrified me – visions of jacking my lower back up. but terror aside, no time like the present.

and then this afternoon i took a glorious 5-mile run in the drizzle, and then taught my last (thank ya lord) spin class of the semester.

odds of being able to walk down the stairs tomorrow? slim to none.

it’s the last week of classes. i have to keep reminding myself what day it is. home stretch. real words soon.

  1. Ah, so jealous. I love deadlifts and squats– or at least I did, until my two knee surgeries came along this summer. We just started straight legged deadlifts (with a five pounder in each hand) and my lower back was absolutely killing me for the following week!

    • yes, getting back to squats and deads was one of my favorite parts of surgery recovery! surprisingly, thus far this morning all that is sore is my upper back – unexpected place for it, lol, and i’m still waiting on those hamstrings to kick in!
